Who is the Greatest Bowler of All Time?
Back then, when I started watching cricket in 2007, I was in awe when I watched Lasith Malinga’s bowling. Dale Steyn was on another level. Brett Lee was fierce. Mitchell Johnson was incomparable. These were the cricketers who made me watch bowler’s performances more than a batter. I have watched them.
I have watched most of the great bowlers of previous eras, not live though but in highlights, multiple times. Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Malcolm Marshall, Curtley Ambrose, and many other greats.
I regretted not existing in the World to watch them live at their peak.
Still, I say. Its Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah. The greatest. I have watched and followed him since his debut. It’s not recency bias. Not at all (or maybe). Bumrah is the greatest bowler of all time at the top with others I mentioned before, if not above.
Considering the game to be more batting-friendly and the touch T20, Bumrah still takes us back to the great West Indian bowling era of the 80s, more often than not. Helmets are the difference though.
The recent T20 WC final performance was just a piece of his greatness.
We are lucky enough to watch his bowling live.
